Protest song "Dina Assassina" becomes the anthem of demonstrations in Peru (Spanish)

A song that questions President Dina Boluarte for not resigning despite the deaths caused by state repression has become the de-facto anthem of the protests.

SERVINDI, February 3, 2023.- "This democracy is no longer a democracy, Dina Asesina, the people repudiate you" are the first verses of a song that has permeated protests against the government of Dina Boluarte.

The theme composed by a group of musicians has become the unofficial anthem in the demonstrations that are replicated throughout the country demanding the resignation of the President and the closure of Congress.

The song of just six verses that are repeated twice each expresses a harsh questioning of the President for the repression, which has left 58 Peruvians dead, in response to protests.

In addition, the song questions that, despite Boluarte's refusal to resign, the state continues to launch "bullets and missiles for our people" while the corrupt continue to take their "million-dollar salaries"

Below are the complete lyrics of the song that resounds in sit-ins and mobilizations, in squares and avenues, with traditional tambos (drums), marching bands, or mariachis, but always accompanied by the voice of the people.
