Prosecutor carries out proceedings in Ministry of Labor for hiring of Alberto Otárola's ex-sister-in-law (Spanish)

Deployment of the Public Ministry occurs after learning that Carola Gisella Rodríguez Bringas, the ex-sister-in-law of the current premier Alberto Otárola, was hired as an adviser with a salary of S/15,500 according to Hildebrandt en su Trece.

The Illicit Enrichment Prosecutor's Office carried out proceedings inside the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), within the framework of the investigations faced by the head of the sector, Alfonso Adrianzén, for the alleged crime of aggravated collusion.

This action comes after the weekly Hildebrandt en sus Trece revealed that Carola Gisella Rodríguez Bringas, ex-sister-in-law of the current premier Alberto Otárola, was hired as an adviser to the MTPE with a salary of S/15,500.

Adviser Marcos Augusto Manco Silva met Prosecutor Alain Flores and his team to start the proceedings, according to what RPP Noticias was able to learn.

Otárola appointed Alfonso Adrianzén as his head of the advisory cabinet. Then, upon assuming the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, he appointed him as his General Secretary, a position in which he would remain until January 13.

The premier would appoint Adrianzén to serve as Labor Minister to replac
e Eduardo García. The latter resigned in protest against the civilian deaths by the Armed Forces and Peruvian National Police during clashes at demonstrations against the government of President Dina Boluarte.

In this case, the Public Ministry opened a preliminary investigation against the Prime Minister and the Minister of Labor as the alleged instigator and perpetrator, respectively, for the alleged crime of aggravated collusion. The measure also covers Carola Gisella Rodríguez Bringas, as an alleged accomplice of said crime.

Prime Minister and Minister of Labor respond

Alberto Otárola denied that he had intervened in any designation within the Ministry of Labor and denied having had any recent communication with Carola Rodríguez.

"In relation to the complaint, I make it clear that I have not intervened in this designation. I have not had contact with Dr. Carola Rodríguez for several years, who is otherwise an outstanding professional. I will give my full collaboration so that the matter is resolved" Otárola said on his social media.

For his part, Labor Minister Alfonso Adriánzen assured that the hiring of his adviser has already been explained, but that he has no problem responding to the Prosecutor's Office.

"On Sunday we explained how the hiring of my adviser took place. If the Prosecutor's Office considers it relevant to clarify it further, I will do so. I did not receive any indication or recommendation from the Premier to designate her. Unlike other opportunities, in this management there are no criminals", Adriánzen wrote on his Twitter account.
