The Congress Member of Podemos Peru Digna Calle Lobatón also announced that she will request a license without pay to legislate "without charging a sol."

The Congress Member of Podemos Peru Digna Calle irrevocably resigned from the Second Vice Presidency of the Board of Directors of Congress because of the Constitution Commission archiving the project of President Dina Boluarte on the advancement of general elections for October 2023.

In a video broadcast on her social networks, Calle Lobatón maintained that Congress and President Dina Boluarte "do not want to take responsibility for the crisis facing the country" and recalled that Parliament has developed "4 sessions, 11 votes and 20 hours of debate without necessary consensus".

"It's clear, they don't want to leave, they don't want to give up their salaries or privileges. Since April 2022, 9 months ago, I presented the 'We're all leaving' bill to advance the elections to 2023. ...without finding any answer," she said.

For this reason, Calle Lobatón resigned from her position on the Board of Directors chaired by José Williams with the support of his Podemos Perú bench. She also announced that she will request her license without pay, as dhe did previously with other parliamentary benefits, so she will continue to legislate "without charging a sol to the State."

"I resign with the hope that the Board of Directors will be recomposed, and a truly democratic and representative formula will be established. From the democratic center we believe that a new Board of Directors can be the door for President Dina Boluarte to resign and call the 2023 General Elections. Dear country, here there is a provincial woman of principles who resigns listening to the people and without minimizing it," added Calle in the video posted on her social networks.
