Arequipa: New LPG Shortage Due to Road Blockades in Ica (Spanish) Once again, the Arequipa region will run out of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the next few hours due to the blockades that occurred Thursday on the Panamericana Sur Highway, near Bario Chino, in Ica, as part of the restart of the protests demanding the closure of Congress and new general elections. Magno Salas Montiel, vice president of the Association of Gas Vendors in Arequipa, explained that currently vehicular LPG is quite scarce in the city. Now, the few service stations that have been selling it are those that have a plant, the rest have already stopped selling LPG and gasohol.
