Rejection of Boluarte, the State of Emergency and the Social "Terruqueo" Grows (Spanish)
Beyond the fact that the Dina Boluarte doll has been one of the most burned in the New Year's celebration, the truth is that in January numerous social, labor, and political organizations are preparing to continue the fight against the civic-military regime that Dina presides over. "Baleaarte" (in popular slang).
Servindi, January 1, 2022 - Numerous labor, social and political organizations reject the civic-military dictatorship headed by Dina Boluarte and the state of emergency that has caused the crime of 28 Peruvians, in a context of militarization and social "terruqueo."
Such is the case of the Movement for Popular Unity, a front that brings together various groups, union leaders and citizens, which issued a statement on December 30, with many supporters.
They reject the agreement adopted by the Congress of the Republic to stay with Dina Boluarte until April 2024, "while they try to implement tailored political reforms."
With this, they intend to "implement tailored political reforms, set up future electoral fraud and keep the country under the control of power groups," says the MUP.
Similarly, the Coordinator of Left and Progressive Political Organizations launched a statement on December 31 demanding the closure of Congress, the resignation of Dina Boluarte and the advancement of elections to 2023.
They reject the claim of Boluarte-Williams Zapata "to remain in charge of a government without legitimacy and a Congress repudiated by the national majority."
It also requests that citizens be consulted by means of a referendum if they agree or not with the call for a Constituent Assembly, that they consult the possibility of a New Constitution.
This should allow a new moment in the history of Peru to open and lay the foundations for the refoundation of the Republic.
