Puno: Buses no longer leave before the strike that begins today (Spanish)
Due to uncertainty caused by the call for the General Strike that is restarted today, transport companies increased their precautions and only enabled shipments until yesterday (Tuesday) at 2:00 p.m.
Initially the companies had announced that the last buses would leave at night, but upon learning that in Arequipa, Cusco, Moquegua, and Tacna, they would block the roads from midnight, they suspended night departures to prevent damage to passengers and units.
Even at noon on Tuesday, some companies had ceased service, with the notice "No cars leave due to unemployment."
The agencies that still dispatched their buses raised prices almost double the usual cost. The normal ticket from Puno to Arequipa is S/25, but it costs between S/40 to S/ 60, the same prices were for Cusco and Tacna. Buses for Lima have not left since yesterday.
