Lidia Flores, president of the National Association of Relatives of the Kidnapped, Detained and Disappeared of Peru (ANFASEP) called for the resignation of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, after the death of ten people because of the confrontation that took place on the 15th of December 2023 at the Ayacucho Airport and the General Cemetery.

She mentioned that a person who was not elected by popular vote cannot be allowed to hold a prominent position, and that regardless of the deaths that were registered throughout the national territory, wants to continue in office.

It is worth remembering that after the massive march that took place in the city of Lima, during clashes with the National Police, in her message to the Nation, President Boluarte confirmed that she will not resign from office.

“The situation is under control, because we know that these gentlemen are not going to stop their process of breaking the rule of law. Deny the false news that has been invading all networks. The government is firm, and its cabinet is more united than ever”, Boluarte specified.

Recently, Lidia Flores said that the State has the obligation to guarantee reparations to the affected families and that the justice operators must find those responsible for this massacre that is already part of the history of violence in Ayacucho.

“Reparation is required to the relatives, since they have been killed like an animal; These are young people full of life and strength, what is happening in Peru is very worrying,” Flores said.

For her part, Vice President of ANFASEP Adelina García Mendoza, stated that to date they have not had any kind of approach with the relatives; However, she said that they will carry out the respective coordination to join forces in order that these murders do not go unpunished.

“We are going to communicate with them to follow up on their cases until they obtain justice. We cannot live as in times of violence, we are going to have a meeting with the relatives, there must be justice," she stressed.

García Mendoz added that if the loved ones of the ten dead do not find justice, the situation could worsen, leaving more deaths and injuries. "There must be that justice so that it never happens again, if it goes unpunished, we will continue killing each other among Ayacuchos," she concluded.
