President of the Ronderos of the Piura region Santos Montalbán Castillo confirmed that a large group of rounds traveled to the city of Lima to participate in the " March of the Cuatro Suyos".

This mobilization was announced because of the deaths of twenty civilians and one police officer which occurred last week in Puno and Cusco after protests against the government of President Dina Boluarte, demands for the closure of Congress, and the call for new elections.

"That macabre attitude that they have had with the people who they call violent has to end (...) No to terruqueos, this is the protest of the people," said the President of Ronderos.

Montalbán added that what is sought in this great mobilization is to call immediate general elections, but with "clear rules", that is, that the participation of politicians who create chaos in the country be prohibited.

In the same way, he criticized the statements of Premier Alberto Otárola who on Thursday, January 12, in a press conference, emphasized that "President Dina Boluarte will not resign because leaving the presidency of the Republic would be leaving a very dangerous door for anarchy and the misrule”.

“With these statements, nothing will be achieved. This government must end, and Congress close. In addition, submit to a referendum if a new constitution is made, that the people decide democratically”, he pointed out.

Given this, Montalbán revealed that the Ronderos and different unions have scheduled a National Strike, the date of which will be decided after the "March of the Cuatro Suyos."
