Nationwide protests have resumed, after a short hiatus for the end-of-year holidays. So far, sixty-two highways have been reported blocked in the interior of the country, according to the Ombudsman's Office.

Terminal Terrestre (bus terminal) in Arequipa loses 100,000 soles a day after the resumption of protests
The resumption of protests in the southern zone of the country hits the economic income of the Terrestrial Terminal and Terrapuerto of Arequipa. The administrator of the Corporation of Terrestrial Terminals of Arequipa (CORATTSA) Carlos Agusti told La República that 100,000 soles are lost per day for income such as garages or shipping tax. Passage of vehicles is blocked at 63 points in nine regions of the country.
Today, Saturday January 7, on the fourth day of indefinite strike, there are fifty-three points with blockades of vehicular traffic in nine regions of the country due to social protests, reported the Superintendence of Land Transportation of People, Cargo, and Merchandise (SUTRAN).
According to SUTRAN Interactive Map, the regions involved are: Apurímac, Cusco, Puno, Arequipa, Madre de Dios, Ucayali, Madre de Dios, and Tacna.
Among the highways with blockaded sections are the Longitudinal de la Selva Norte, Longitudinal de la Selva Sur, Quinua-Quillabamba-Cusco, Arequipa-Santa Lucía-Juliaca, Camaná-Mollendo-Punta de Bombón-Tacna and Longitudinal de la Costa Sur, among others.

In Arequipa, there were no blockades reported on the fourth day of the National Strike as of Saturday morning. Despite the protests that began in a forceful way on January 4th, there was no mobilization in the streets, nor were there blockades or pickets. Likewise, the traffic was flowing normally.

Protesters block kilometer 290 of the Panamericana Sur highway
Today, Saturday January 7, protesters blocked Kilometer 290 of the Panamericana Sur Highway, in the sector known as Expansión Urbana in the Salas Guadalupe District.
Sixty people were observed in the area preventing the passage of traffic with stones, sticks, and tires.
One of the three most critical points in the Ica region is Kilometer 263 of the Panamericana Sur, also known as the 'Barrio Chino'. At this point the highway also continues to be blocked next to the Álamo sector (KM. 299).

Peruvian Air Force (FAP) plane transfers a patient injured in the protests from Jauja to Lima.
By order of the Ministry of Defense and with the use of night navigation goggles, a team of pilots from the Peruvian Air Force successfully carried out the aeromedical evacuation this morning of a patient injured during the protests, from Jauja to Lima. The patient had been injured in December and his health had been complicated by a post-injury infection.
Aboard a Spartan C-27J, Aldis Charichi Lazaro (47) was attended to by doctors from the Mobile Emergency Care System (SAMU) and the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) of the Ministry of Health. The patient arrived in Lima, landing first in Air Group No. 8 of the Callao Air Base before being transferred to a specialized hospital in the capital.

National Strike in Puno: where are injured police officers treated?
Head of the Juliaca Ombudsman's Office Nivardo Henriquez, explained that police officers injured in the protests are being treated at the Carlos Monge Medrano Hospital in the city. The injured officers were identified as Victor Quispe López, Jair Condemayta Ticona, Fernando Valverde Vilca, and David Chávez Cabezas.
Ana Jacho Turpo, mother of one of the injured, requested help to care for her son. Due to the high number of people affected, some are being treated in the corridors of the hospital. Relatives of the patients arrived at the hospital as representatives of the Ombudsman verified the care they received.

National Strike: sixteen injured in Juliaca after demonstrations on January 6
According to sources from the Ombudsman's Office, there were sixteen people injured (twelve protesters and four police officers) in Juliaca after on Friday, January 6. The clashes between the National Police and demonstrators who tried to take over the Inca Manco Cápac Airport caused injuries on both sides and a PNP tank was set on fire.
