Minister Takes Stock of the Demonstrations in the Country (Spanish)

Head of the sector congratulated the work of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) during the citizen mobilizations.

The Minister of the Interior, Víctor Rojas, provided details of the actions taken during the demonstrations that began this Wednesday, January 4, throughout the country in rejection of the government of Dina Boluarte.

"In the southern region, the largest number of protests by citizens has been concentrated. Specifically, in the Puno region, where yesterday they blocked the international bridge of Ilave (...) In all protest situations, the police have guaranteed those who protested and those who did not, with respect for human rights", Rojas said. 

During the Council of Ministers, Rojas congratulated the performance of the National Police "for professional behavior." Meanwhile, he added that, at the Juliaca airport in Puno, there was a skirmish between demonstrators and police agents, which left no injuries and could be controlled.
