Head of the Zamácola Health Micro Network Juan Alarcón confirmed a person died on the Añashuayco bridge near the Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón International Airport.

One person is reported dead and more than ten injured during the clashes at the Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón Airport (AQP). The event occurred on the Añashuayco Bridge and was confirmed to RPP by Juan Alarcón, head of the Zamácola Health Micro Network.
The victim was identified as Jorge Condori Arcana, 30 years old, who arrived at the health center lifeless. Doctors could only certify his death.
The head of the Micro Health Network also declared that some of the injured were victims of the use of rubber bullets and that they continue to be treated in the health center.
This morning, a confrontation occurred on the outskirts of the Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón Airport carried out through four holes in the facility's metal fences.
Airport Attacks
The Peruvian Corporation of Commercial Airports and Aviation (CORPAC) reported that the Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón International Airport in Arequipa "has suffered the onslaught of acts of vandalism that have seriously affected the visual aid equipment, essential to provide air navigation services."
"The navigation aid systems have been severely damaged, since they have been constantly attacked from various sides by protesters, who are in the vicinity of the airport's perimeter fence trying to violate the facilities with the sole purpose of causing damage" CORPAC communicated in a statement.
CORPAC also noted that law enforcement "has contained the mob, however, the protesters, from their position, have managed to destroy some receiving antennas, runway lights, equipment, and highly specialized air navigation systems."
