Twenty-nine police officers injured during serious acts of violence 



The head of the VII Cusco Police Macro Region, Pedro Rodolfo Villanueva Nole, reported that twenty-nine police officers from various instances were injured in the latest acts of violence recorded this week. The senior police officer, after noting that the social situation being experienced is causing a regrettable number of victims, pointed out that the police have rights and that their function is only to protect citizens, but that they are threatened and beaten for complying with their duty.

POLICE OFFICER DEATH

On the other hand, yesterday the death of the PNP agent Efrén Cruz Cardeña (45) who worked in the rural police station of Sangará Acomayo was reported, the police officer died because of an accident when he was traveling on his motorcycle.

According to what was known, the agent who lost his life left his home around 10 p.m. last Wednesday aboard his motorcycle with license plate 6004-1X, he was heading along the paved road to enter the Chuquicahuana detour, in order to assist his family member who had been stranded due to the suspension of vehicular traffic, but when he was at the height of Cayllapampa in the community of Cangalli, Checacupe district, the motorcycle collided with stones that had been placed on the track for the purpose of to block traffic.

The unfortunate policeman did not receive immediate attention, an hour later policemen from the Checacupe police station arrived at the scene, found him alive and transferred him to the Checacupe health post, but the staff were not there, then they evacuated him to the district from Pitumarca, but he did not receive care either. This morning, after overcoming several obstacles on the road, they managed to transfer him to the Combapata health post, but the doctor on duty only limited himself to certifying that he had died.
