 Puno - Tourism in the Region Continues to Sink Due to Crisis (Spanish)

The President of the Puno Chamber of Commerce and production, Francisco Aquise, indicated that the protest measures, despite being a right, are affecting different economic activities such as tourism, industry, commerce, and others.

As Aquise explained, it is estimated that there is an economic loss of 250 thousand soles per day in regional tourism, specifying that the reservations were canceled in this period and already affected January of next year, which would also affect the flow of visitors to the festival of the Virgin of Candelaria.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce estimated that more than 450 million soles are recorded in economic losses in the commerce sector, due to the blocking of communication routes, according to the small and micro-businessmen who are the most affected by the stoppages.
