Greetings. President Dina Boluarte gave an emotional speech for the celebration of Christmas this Saturday, December 24. Initially, the president greeted all Peruvians, inside and outside the country.
She then mentioned that "it is not easy" to give her message due to the national crisis due to the deaths resulting from clashes in various regions between protesters and members of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces.
"It's not easy for me to tell each of you 'Merry Christmas.' Is not easy. How much I would have wanted to start this transitional government without that violence, and without those human losses that hurt my heart. I reiterate my condolences to the families. How much I would have wanted this situation of violence that hurts the heart not to happen”, she expressed.
In that sense, she urged the demonstrators to no longer continue with the seizure of airports or the burning of institutions, such as the Judiciary or the Prosecutor's Office.
"What does that solve? Faced with the needs of health, education, water and agriculture, what does that solve? Brothers and sisters, that doesn't solve anything," she said.
"The only thing I want as a woman, as a mother, as a daughter, as a sister, is to work in peace and calm to solve what you, with good reason, demand, but for that just reason that you do not take advantage of and use them to generate violence in the country," the President added.
At another time, she asked citizens to talk with the governors and mayors-elect, who will begin their functions on January 1. She also pointed out that they can also pronounce themselves through the ministers and the same congressmen "representatives of their regions."
"Let us bring tranquility in the homeland. If there is peace, tranquility and legal security, more people will come, and with these investments we will capitalize on the economy, and with that solve education," she said.
