Dina Boluarte moves away from the Cerronista left: "I do not have a radical or extremist ideology"
The president said that "radical positions" are what harm the country. In addition, he insisted that inciters, such as Guillermo Bermejo, manipulated protesters inside the country.
After having granted interviews to different television channels last Sunday, President Dina Boluarte continues with her visit to the media. This time, Boluarte Zegarra appeared on Willax TV to give insights into her personal position as head of state, distancing herself from extremist speeches, such as that of the party that led her to the vice presidency and, by constitutional succession, to the presidency of the Republic.
In his conversation with Milagros Leiva, Boluarte expressed that he still maintains a closeness to the left, but clarified that this affiliation is not extreme. "From a very young age, I always fought for fair things, for those who do not have to have, and for equality and equity in people to occur," said the president.
"I've always wanted people to be equal without discrimination. If that's called the left, I'm on the left; but I also want to say that I don't have a radical ideology, I don't have an extremist thought, because I think radicals and extremist thoughts do a lot of damage to the country," Dina Boluarte explained.
The president insisted that she was the ruler "of the 33 million Peruvians." "Within these 33 million Peruvians there are people from the right, there are people from the center, there are people from the left. I will govern for all of them, without consideration, without discrimination and without saying what yes and what no."
However, when asked about the actions to be taken by his government in the face of the deaths in the midst of the clashes of the social outbreak that caused his arrival in office, Boluarte insisted on the existence of inciters and the presence of violent groups to justify the departure of the Armed Forces to the streets.
Boluarte maintained the position of his now prime minister, Alberto Otárola, by pointing out that the Peruvians killed in the last two weeks had been manipulated by some members of the extreme left, such as Guillermo Bermejo.
