Cusco: Leaders of Organizations from MACROSUR Agree to Restart Indefinite Strike on January 4, 2023 (Spanish)

Meanwhile, leaders of Cusco have a different position for dialogue with ministers 

The leaders of various social organizations of the Macro Region Sur (MACROSUR) in a meeting held yesterday in Arequipa, unanimously agreed to restart the indefinite strike from January 4, 2023.

The agreements of the list of claims approved in the First Macroregional Meeting of the South are five:

The closure of Congress, the resignation of Dina Boluarte from the presidency of Peru and her being denounced for the death of thirty people; the advancement of elections for 2023; the convocation of a Plurinational and Popular Constituent Assembly; and finally, the freedom of Pedro Castillo for the illegal detention.

The popular leader of Arequipa, Jorge del Carpio Lazo announced that a massive march of his four to the city of Lima is also being prepared. "It is the word of the people, and that is respected," he specified after completing the meeting.

For his part, the general secretary of the FDTA, José Luis Chapa Díaz, highlighted the unity of this meeting, he specified that there will be a second meeting in Andahuaylas. "Dina Boluarte has to resign, she has to go to jail," the leader reiterated, specifying that various strategies be implemented to achieve popular support for the measure of force decreed 

Meanwhile, yesterday, leaders of social organizations in Cusco disagreed about whether or not to attend the working meeting with representatives of the Executive Power to be held today from 10 in the morning in the Electro Sur Este auditorium in Bancopata, those of the Board of Users of Riego specified that dialogue should not be held with government ministers that do not have legitimacy, while representatives of one of the factions of the FDTC specified that they will attend the meeting to reiterate the agenda of struggle as well as raise precise aspects of the Cusco Agenda that should attend to

It should be noted that for today's appointment on behalf of the Executive Power, the Ministers of Energy and Mines, Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Culture as well as Foreign Trade and Tourism have confirmed their presence. It has also transpired that to validate the agreements reached, the head of State Dina Boluarte herself would have a presence in Cusco.
