The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI) warned that intense rainfall (hail, sleet, and rain) will occur for today, Monday, in the Ayacucho region and ten other regions of Peru.

According to the SENAMHI meteorological warning, these departments have a yellow alert level, since rainfall will be moderate to heavy intensity also in the towns of Áncash, Apurímac, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, Lima, Pasco, and Piura.

According to SENAMHI, accumulated rainfall close to 16 mm/day is expected in the northern sierra, close to 15 mm/day in the central sierra and values ​​of up to 14 mm/day in the southern sierra.

In addition, the occurrence of hail is expected in areas above 2,800 meters above sea level and the presence of snow in locations above 4,000 meters of altitude.

These precipitations will be accompanied by electrical discharges and gusts of wind with speeds close to thirty-five kilometers per hour, indicated SENAMHI.
